05 Dec Chic City Engagement Photos | Esnelda & Alwyn
These Chic City Engagement Photos reminds me of New York! The colors, the vibe and this incredible couple. Alwyn and Esnelda are the coolest couple ever. They truly make my job as photographer super easy.
The Love Story
Whoever told you fairytales does not exist had probably been right…or not…or so I had believed until
one magical evening our lives changed forever…and for the better…But wait…could it get better or was I just dreaming?
We had known each other for a decade but God knows it was not our time to be together yet.
At a mutual friend’s birthday, we were reunited…. not one of us out looking for love, but little did we
know…He made small talk, but I left early, not getting my full name and not showing too much interest in front of our friends.
He knew it was now or never & sent me a Facebook friend request. Searching and
praying for more signs a request on Instagram was also sent.
Once again this was not enough and so a
message on Facebook appeared in my inbox…very cheekily he sent me his number saying that
WhatsApp might be easier…
Challenge accepted…so we messaged one another & eventually, it was time
for our first date.
10 April 2018
Booth number 13 at the Red Cloud Spur I reached out for his hands and asked him to
please say grace.
Something had sparked but we were still waiting for more signs until one evening we
sat underneath a big tree in our garden whereby I mentioned that a treehouse for our children would
look amazing…he went into the house, got a bottle of champagne and asked me to be his girlfriend.

and designing and dreaming of our big day were not in order.
But little did I know what he had been planning for the most special memory to be saved in our memory box.
All it took was a meeting request for a surprise birthday weekend away to an unknown location with the clue being…
Beachboys hit in 1988…. Kokomo…but this is in Langebaan…but hang on we’re flying to
Silly me…it was the restaurant that we had to have supper at in Wilderness.
Our flight was
delayed so we missed this reservation but had an amazing night with the locals.
But in the back of my mind, my best friends’ words kept running in my thoughts….” you guys are getting engaged” so I kept on feeling his pockets for any ring boxes.
The Saturday morning, we spent exploring
the Garden Route…BUT STILL NO RING!!!!!!!
After sundowners with a friend, we had this amazing culinary experience booked at Serendipity
Restaurant boasting a 5-course food and wine pairing so obviously I thought in my mind if anything
ought to happen…this will be the place and time…. BUT NOTHING….
Upon arrival back at Wilderness Gem Luxury Villa where we stayed for the weekend,
I was welcomed to a spread of candles, roses, bubbles, and snacks but what went through my mind was what a spectacular birthday spoil from the owner who is a close friend of ours….
next thing Shallow by Lady Gaga featuring Bradley Cooper started playing and he asked
me for a dance…his heart was pounding outside of his body and when I asked him what was wrong he replied that it might be the wines we had a supper that gave him palpitations…
He then disappeared for a while whilst I was capturing every detail with photos galore.
Next thing a very special song started playing and as I turned around facing my prince charming on one knee with a rose in the one hand and the ring box in the other.
I was completely shell-shocked and speechless (and this rarely happens)…then I
asked him what he was doing on his knee and said to him that that ring is not my ring….
He says that at that point he knew he was ready for marriage…
After the 4th time of him asking I could compose myself
and say YES!!!!
There was a lot of tears and the moment was precious and priceless and every time I take off my ring my fiance proposes again with a broad smile on this face as it still feels surreal to be engaged to your best friend, soulmate and partner in crime!

Johannesburg has a strange beauty to it, something I am falling in love the more I get to know Jozi! This Sandton Rooftop, Maboneng and all Jozi’s trees are just some of its spectacular sightings.
